How the SEO topic generator decides what to suggest

Open Expand Roadmap and the Roadmap expansion opportunities panel is already there. Behind it, the model reads your brand context, your seed topics strongest first by pages and measured searches, and a representative slice of the page keywords you already have. Its brief is strict: suggest broad head topics of two to four words that can each carry several new pages, never a long-tail page query, and never a rephrasing of territory you own.

Every suggestion must name an authority anchor copied exactly from your roadmap, shown on the card as “Builds on”, and explain in one sentence why the topic extends it and why its lead page type fits. A topic that cannot point to authority you already have does not make the list.

A content topic generator that removes what you already own

The model proposes; deterministic code decides. Exact matches, word-order, plural and filler-word variants of any seed or page keyword are removed, using the same twin check the roadmap applies everywhere. So are umbrella topics sitting above something you already cover, because a broader label would compete with pages you own instead of opening a new lane. Topics carrying a year or “near me” go too, and so does any suggestion that repeats an earlier one in the same batch.

Then every survivor is priced for monthly searches. A topic with measured zero demand is dropped. If demand cannot be measured at that moment, the card says Volume pending rather than inventing a number.

Topic ideas for every page type that fits your brand

Suggestions come three per page type, and only for page types that make sense for you. Guide, Listicle, Roundup, Review and VS blogs are open to any content-led brand. Collection and Product pages need ecommerce evidence, Solution pages need a B2B signal, and Tool/Calculator pages need a tool on your roadmap or in your positioning. The default Mixed Page Types view shows six recommended topics, no more than two per page type, spread across different parts of your authority. Switch the filter to see every idea for one page type.

From topic to topic cluster

Click a card to put it in the Topic field, pick the country and language, and press Start clustering. The keyword clustering tool takes it from there, mining real searches around the topic and adding the pages worth building to your roadmap. Or tick several cards and choose Review in Import List: every keyword is sorted into cannibalization risk, already covered, ready to import, or not recommended, before anything is added. The keyword cannibalization checker guards the result from then on.

The panel keeps itself current. Suggestions are tied to a fingerprint of your roadmap, so when pages are added, removed or reclassified they refresh against the new coverage. A site scan primes the first set as soon as your pages are imported, and Refresh runs a new analysis whenever you want one.

The SEO Copilot on the Topics view offers the questions this page is about: what should we write first, which topics have the most opportunity, which topic should we expand next, and where the gaps in your topical authority are. It answers from the same roadmap, with volume, difficulty and Priority Score for every page.
